Easton Farmer’s Market {Friday Five}

Yesterday Lil and I went to the grand opening of the Easton Farmer’s Market. It is located in the parking lot behind Fado’s on the south east side of Easton. An impressive 50+ vendors will line the spacious lot from 3-7 pm every Thursday. Here are five things we enjoyed today: 1) Space: For the farmer’s sake, I do hope there will be crowds eventually, but as a consumer I love being able to easily [...]

Friday Five: Awesome Events In Columbus TOMORROW

It must be spring in Columbus because I am hearing of so many fun events that one person cannot possibly handle them all. Tomorrow alone holds dozens of enticing events.  Here are the top five on my list, in no particular order: 1) Como Yarden Plant Sale – My friends and fellow edible gardeners are selling their home-raised, organic heirloom seedlings for $3 tomorrow from 11 am – 4 pm at 268 W Como. The growing season is beginning and gardening and eating events are blossoming too! Fill your calendar with local food events and your tummy will thank you later. The very next Wednesday, a green box arrived on the front porch. Lil helped me unpack the organic fruits and vegetables. She couldn’t wait for the pictures to be taken [...]

From their website: “Designed to mirror the traditional [...]

Practicing Homeschooling

I mentioned awhile ago that we are considering homeschooling Lillian. In order to get a feel for the experience, Alex and I began ‘practicing’ in December. Because I am home most often, I am largely in charge of creating activities and guiding Lil, though Alex is supportive and participates when he can. I started by intentionally changing my attitude. I re-framed our activities together as potential teachable moments. I began asking more questions of Lil [...]
