From February 27 – March 7, the Ohio Expo Center will host the 2010 Central Ohio Home & Garden Show. With an Art in Bloom theme, the show will feature living landscapes, works of art, and appearances by home and garden celebrities. Mary Alice Yeskey and Geof Manthorne of Ace of Cakes, Jamie Durie, star of HGTV’s The Outdoor Room, and HGTV’s Designed to Sell host Shane Tallant have scheduled events.
While I have never attended the Home & Garden Show, it has always captured my interest. There are chef demonstrations, a Kids Day with special events, and workshops on everything from vegetable gardening to cake decorating. I’m excited to explore the show this year.
Tickets are $10 for adults while children 12 and under are free. $2 off tickets are available at Home Depot stores. Hours vary with extended hours on Saturdays; the show is closed Monday the 1st.
The organizers of the event have provided me with three sets of two tickets to give away. If you wish to go, you can gain a chance to win two tickets in either or both of these ways:
1) Comment on this post with something you hope to see at the Home & Garden Show.
2) Tweet about the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show (include my twitter ID @racheltayse and comment below)
I will pick three winners randomly at 12:00 PM EST on Friday February 25. Good luck!
Disclosure: I was given tickets for my family, a media parking pass, and chocolate lollipop courtesy of the Home & Garden Show.
Oooh, I’d love to go and learn more about heirloom veggies that do well in Ohio!! And paver patios.
I’ve never been to a home and garden show… but, I have both so I think it would be cool to go! I’d love to see the chef demonstrations and any art exhibits. Maybe there will be stuff about decorating your home?
I went to the H&G show about five years ago and it is filled with fabulous information, displays and kids events. Now that I have more kids, I would love to go again, dream about spring, and learn ways to incorporate kids in gardening. Plus, anything I can learn would be a bonus since I am doing a school garden this year. Thanks for the chance to win tickets, Rachel!
I LOVE the home & garden show!!!!!!!~!!
Perhaps this would motivate me to get serious about buying a house!
Ooh, I would like to go. There is nothing I like more than looking at house stuff.
.-= Amber´s last blog ..New Year Snapshots =-.
My boyfriend and my mom both have kitchen projects coming up, so some inspirational rooms/products would be helpful. Also, that Jamie Durie is a goooood lookin’ man with an accent to boot!
Oh I do think I would like to go and get some good ideas on container gardening… due to the “housing crisis”, I have unfortunately found myself moving from home-ownership to renting, which turns out suits me much better, but I DO love my tomatoes, and many other goodies. I need some creative ideas though for some containers.
I (gag) need to retile some of my bathroom. I’d love to look at those options. Additionally, I could always use more vegetable gardening advice.

i went last year for the first time. mel bartholomew of square foot gardening fame was there. i totally geeked! looking forward to going again this year (hopefully for free!!)
I have gone in the past, but going for free would be so much sweeter.
Would love to get ideas for my garden. I would also like to see the cake decorating contests/demonstrations. Heard some of decorators from ‘Ace of Cakes’ are coming! It is amazing what they make w/ cake.
I have never been there, but would love to go this year! I would love to see all of the beautiful plants and get ideas for our own flower and veggie gardens (how to plant, what to plant, what does best together, etc.)! Also, organizational tips for our home would be a lifesaver, especially since we have two little ones who like to derail the feable attempts I’ve made thus far!
We are considering building a house so we are open to any ideas for that! I am especially interested in seeing affordable options for landscaping.
