Kids Cook classes will resume on Thursday mornings starting February 4 from 11:15 am – 12 pm at Sprout Soup.

Children aged 3 – 6 will cook with seasonally available winter ingredients, be exposed to new tastes, and practice skills in a fun environment.

    2/4-Oranges-taste a rainbow of oranges

    2/11-Honey-make a sweet Valentine’s treat

    2/18-Garlic-plant your own garlic chive

2/25-Black Beans-smash and mix tasty dips

    Classes cost $4 per child.

I am also offering a parents workshop on Sunday February 28 from 1 – 2 pm at Sprout Soup called Cooking with Kids: Why, What, and How.  I will share techniques for making cooking with the whole family more enjoyable.   This workshop for adults only is free!

Just curious – how hard and fast is the 3-year-old part? I have a little boy who would probably LOVE to plant his own garlic (he’s still pretty proud of *his* butternut squash from last season).

Alison, the hardest part for younger kids is waiting when others are taking a turn. I do my very best to make the wait short for everyone, but especially when we are baking not everyone can have a turn at once.

If you think your son could handle it and you are willing to stay and help him for his first session, you are welcome to come!
