Ennui and the Love of Vegetables

The sun calls me outside; the bitter cold pushes me right back down into this chair.
Satsumas are acceptably tasty, but they are no garden picked pea, no sun ripened tomato, no dreamy sweet kale.
The dirt is frozen so I can not work it. My fingernails are dangerously clean.
Soon I will take up painting the walls of my house. The minerals will stick to my skin. The colors will change. I will occupy my mind until soul satisfying work begins again.
I too have similar dreams…

the answer to clean fingernails is plumbing. surely you have some drains that need cleaned.
Bite your tongue, dad! Alex is out of town and something usually breaks…please let it not be plumbing…
We got an AeroGarden for Christmas, and are excited to grow some herbs/veggies indoors this winter. We’ve never grown herbs, so that is our first experiment.
Also, we painted the entire lower level of our house green (a lighter shade and a darker shade). It helps.
