Numerar Sink, I Love You!
When we renovated the kitchen last winter, we installed a super deep single bowl stainless steel sink, the Numerar. It is a sit-on-cabinet sink which means no countertop cutout, saving counter cost and effort. This sink is so deep I can bathe the little dog in it and she can’t climb out. Alex can soak or rinse a whole turkey. It was only $159 from Ikea.
But that’s not the best part. Let me show you how awesome it is:

Numerar view from dining room pass through, pretty tidy, eh?

Not! Same sink, not a thing added from above picture
That’s right, the Numerar conceals my aversion to doing dishes. The picture shows three days worth in there. I love it!

I like the idea of leaving dishes for 3 days but I don’t think Annie would.
The ability to rinse a whole turkey is impressive.

Lovely! I realize this posting is over a year old, but I’m wondering how your gorgeous butcher block countertops have held up next to the Numerar sink. We’re considering installing a similar setup (butcher block w/Numerar sink) but are concerned about the edges of the wood being too susceptible to water damage—as opposed to sinks that have a flange and would cover the edge of the butcher block. Please share any details!
We’re thinking of getting the same sink – question about the countertop and dishwasher: since the dishwasher is next to the sink that requires no countertop, how is the countertop above the dishwasher supported?
Susan, on the side of the sink cabinet, my husband installed a support made of scrap lumber. The countertop is attached to that and supported by the cabinet on the other side of the dishwasher.
Hello,
We’re interested in this sink as well. Since they do not come pre-drilled with a hole for the faucet, how did you guys cut the hole? My understanding is that the metal sink wraps around a wood frame.
Thanks?
Harrison – we used a hole saw (a bladed attachment for a power drill) and carefully cut from the metal top down. The best practice is to take a center punch and hammer a starting place in the center of the hole you want to drill before working with the hole saw.
