August 5th is the next Thurber House Picnic but she may just want to visit the house. One of the smaller city parks (Blendon Woods - birding; Whetstone - roses) and/or the Topiary Park. German Village is a good place too. Not sure if Schmidt's does personal tours or just classroom ones. I also went on a glass blowing tour somewhere there for a high school German class.
